FVB 3 v 2 Moore Utd 'B' (02/11/2014)
Having lost the away fixture to Moore Utd 'B' earlier in the season, the FVB boys were keen to make amends for the game that they should have at least got a point from. The game started slowly for FVB, but as the game went on the defence and midfield took control of the game. The Moore Utd 'B' lads were struggling to keep up with the pass and move style football that FVB were playing. Laolu scored the first goal, with Simon Wright securing a 2 v1 lead at half time, with a neatly slotted penalty.
The second half was a tough encounter, with Moore Utd 'B' piling on the pressure. However, the FVB defence held on, with Sam Vanderzijl making some excellent saves. The three points were secured later in the second half when Mike Oldfield scored to ensure the win, with FVB subsequently moving up to second in the league.
Goalscorers: Laolu Olubodun, Simon Wright, Mike Oldfield
MOM: Paul Hindle
FVB 1 v 2 Hazel Grove
(09/11/2014)
Hazel Grove were FVB's opponents this weekend, in a second against third league match clash.
The game was played with a good footballing spirit throughout, with both teams playing some good football. In the first half, FVB were arguably the better side, and were playing some quality football at times and were keeping the ball very well in general. The home team went one up just before half time, when Steve 'Taffy' Hughes' shot from outside the box hit the bar, then Mike Oldfield followed up on the rebound and slotted into the back of then net to score.
FVB's Manager 'The Gaffer' had to make some changes at the beginning of the second half, due to a few injuries and had to change the back four line up. However, this allowed Hazel Grove to get themselves back into the game. Their equaliser came through an own goal by Darren Kelly who was unlucky not to clear his lines with his header, which ended up in the top corner. There was nothing that Sam in goal could have done to save this freaky own goal.
Hazel Grove's winner came shortly after, when their central midfielder was brought down in the box, a blatant penalty, which was neatly converted by the away team.
Despite pushing forward and looking for the equalizer, FVB were unable to score, although they did come close on two or three occasions towards the end of the match. Hazel Grove held the their lead and went away with the three points at the end.
Goal scorer: Mike Oldfield

Blackbrook 0 v 3 FVB
(26/10/2014)
FVB got off to a flying start by taking a two goal lead thanks to Mike Oldfield and Laolu Olubodun. However, the game was disrupted towards the end of the first half due to some ungentlemanly conduct by some of the Blackbrook players. Thankfully, this was resolved, and the second half was played with more respect and no real problems. FVB secured the win with another Mike Oldfield goal on the hour to secure the three points.
Goalscorers: Mike Oldfield 2, Laolu Olbodun
MOM: Laolu Olybodun
