RESULTS &

Match Reports

FVB 5 v 5 Billinge (05/10/2014)

The one that got away. Although 10 goals were scored in this highly entertaining football match, the home team (FVB) should have secured the full 3 points. At half time FVB were cruising and should have seen the game out. However, and in all fairness to Billinge, they stuck at it and found themselves back in the game and managed to equalise late on in the match to secure a point.

Goalscorers: Mike Oldfield x2, Johnny Watson, Simon Wright, Laolu Olybodun.

Moore Utd 'B' 4 v 3 FVB (28/09/2014)

A dissapointing result. FVB were 2 v 1 ahead at half time with two cracking goals being scored by Stephen Hughes and Mike Oldfield. Early in the second half, Stephen Hughes scored his second to make it 3 v 1 for FVB. However, Moore Utd. 'B' found themselves back in the game as the second half went on, with 2 goals getting them level. With just a minute of normal palying time remaining Gary Smith scored the winner  for the home (Moore Utd. 'B') team to secure the three points.

FVB  3 v 1 Manchester Gregonians (14/09/2014)

The opening game of the season for the new boys, FVB. The home team started well and managed to secure the three points with goals from Graham Hitchen, Mike Oldfield and Simon Wright. The overall performance by the team was excellent. A good solid win.

Llangefni Town Vets. FC 0 v 4 FVB

To celebrate a succesful first season, FVB had arranged an international friendly match against a Llangefni Town Vets FC. Stephen Hughes of FVB, grew up on Anglesey and arranged the game with his father, who used to manage Llangefni Town FC in the Welsh league in the past. This was an excellent day all round, with some quality football being played by both teams. FVB however, were superb on the day and proved to be too strong for their oppoenents. It is hoped that this fixture will become an annual event!!!
